Dominique Savio BARAHIRA

    • BARAHIRA DOMINIQUE SAVIO holds a BSc.in Mechanical and Energy Engineering from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology. Prior to joining Pauwes, he gained practical experience in plant utilities from two brewery industrial companies in Rwanda (BRALIRWA LTD AND SKOL BREWERY LTD). He was awarded a scholarship by Africa Union to master in Energy Engineering at the Pan African University, Institute of Water and Energy Engineering incl. Climate Change (PAUWES) Hosted by Tlemcen University in Algeria. His research area lies in generating affordable, reliable and modern clean energy using locally available resources efficiently and in a sustainable way. He did his six months research internship at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology  (CPUT) in South Africa. As a young researcher, He prepared an article on the Suitability of crop residues as feedstock for biofuel production in South Africa: A Win-Win Scenario, and will be published in Elsevier before he graduates from PAUWES. In 2018 Dominique was a Vice-President of Rwandan students association in Algeria. He is the current PAUWES class representative in Energy Engineering.
